Clas På Hörnet has entertained illustrious names such as King Gustav III and Carl-Mikael Bellman. In 1731, a small inn dubbed Browallshof was opened by Clas Browall. Clas På Hörnet's grandest period was during the Gustavian era when King Gustav III changed the way people viewed fine dining. During the last decades of the eighteenth century, they were renowned for their fine cuisine and impressive atmosphere. After Gustav III was murdered in 1792, the inn's popularity declined. The city of Stockholm seized the premises in 1877. In the twentieth century major parts were demolished and the only building that was saved was the wing, which stands till date. In 1984, the old inn was refurbished to its former grandeur.
