We visited on Sunday and sat down to order what we thought would be a tantalising meal. We ordered two salads; chicken in curry sauce with apples and sultana's, and avocado prawns, both with French bread. After 20 minutes of ordering we were told they had run out of salad, but would make something up? Further 20 minutes of waiting and then the chicken salad arrived. The chicken was not defrosted properly and without any curry sauce. There were old, dry cucumber, old tomatoes and a selection of peppers. Added to this were raw string beans. The avocado salad was not much better. Prawns were badly defrosted and soggy. Toasted French bread arrived a further 20 minutes later. Sorry, but to be charged £8.50 per salad of this standard is quite appalling. We did complain, but was told that the manager was not in and that they were short staffed in the kitchen. Other diners were having the same problems. We paid but will never return and have told many of our friends the same.

It must be the most romantic restaurant in town. Ever since it was taken over by the new family owners Marta and Steve, couple of weeks ago, it's been changed nearly beyond recognition. New menu, fresh ingredients, exceptional customer service, really nice ambience and above all clean rustic décor – a fantastic place and highly recommended.
