Few restaurants combine such elements as stunning interiors, award winning chef and outstanding service under one roof, yet Clocktower Restaurant in Harrogate seems to do it rather effortlessly. With a 400 year old Catalonian olive tree, a hand-made pink crystal chandelier from Nice, Moroccan wall lights and hand painted Brazilian wall paper, the ambience simply lights up with cosmopolitan brilliance that sets this place apart from the pack. There's ample seating space available and guests may choose to dine at the bar, restaurant or terrace or simply enjoy a cup of coffee in the conservatory.

Try the Yorkshire tapas - Chef Stephanie Moon's signature preparation among other delicacies such as the pigeon - homemade black pudding chorizo Turkish delight or the monk fish and fillet mignon. There's a recommended wine to go with every dish on the menu, but of course you are more than welcome to experiment with the list of well-travelled wines. For dessert, go for the pudding assiette if there's someone to share with or conclude with the pear experience. The service is impeccable and the overall experience, magical. The 2 AA rosettes come as no surprise at all.
