Cocum Description

Cocum is an exciting new addition to the Raynes Park restaurant scene, which now boasts an excellent Keralan inspired Indian. The menu here is a thrilling one giving a good selection of different textures and flavours. Order one of their short bites such as pappadoms or banana chips whilst you mull over the rest of the menu with a beer or a glass of wine. Starters will set you back around £2.95 and there's also a separate range of soups on offer that are particularly well recommended. When it comes to mains opt for a perfectly spiced biriyani, one of their many vegetarian dishes, or the real highlight of the menu, the fish dishes. Choices include kingfish marinated in turmeric with coconut milk, ginger, onion and curry leaves, or black tiger prawns cooked in a thick cumin flavoured masala sauce.

Your Reviews of Cocum

Lesley from Brum (29 June 2008)

Being a resident of Birmingham, I have eaten in quite a few Indian restaurants over the years, but Cocum is in a different league. The food there is wonderful! The flavours are fresh and subtle and everything is perfectly cooked and presented. The fish molly is particularly good and the appams, which I have not encountered before, are a delicious accompaniment. The service is very good and the atmosphere relaxed but refined. I will definitely eat there again.
