Conqueror Inn at The East Close Hotel
Lyndhurst Road, Christchurch, BH23 7EF
The East Close Hotel is an impressive restoration of a Grade II listed eighteenth century mansion and is ideally situated on the edge of New Forest, along the A35 and close to local beaches. REVIEWS OF Conqueror Inn at The East Close Hotel
Wendy Deans (11 May 2011)
I was taken to the Conqueror for my birthday lunch - the restaurant was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. As for the food, it was freshly cooked and delicious. I had a very relaxing lunch at a very reasonable price. Good luck for the future.
John Pope (17 February 2010)
We ate at The Conqueror Inn last week and have never been more pleasantly surprised. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. My wife and I, both ate the scallops which were presented beautifully on a slate, which was unusual - but certainly not in a bad way. I then had the rack of lamb, which was cooked to perfection, a perfectly plated dish which looked stunning, I couldn't believe the pea panna cotta, which was truly sensational both to eat and look at. My wife has the roast duck breast, again amazingly presented; she told me that the fennel and the duck went brilliantly together. For desert we shared an assiette, which was a sample of most of the deserts on the menu, all of them were fabulous. The service was good, our waitress was friendly. The timings on the starters were good, about 10 - 15 minutes, and main courses took about 15 minutes after we finished our starters, which was reasonable. Our desert was very quick coming out, just over 5 minutes. I thoroughly recommend eating here. Overall a nine out of ten!
