Conservatory Restaurant, The

The Annesley House Hotel is located just outside the ancient City walls of Norwich on Newmarket Road but it is a magnificent world of its own with a tree lined conservation area and beautifully landscaped gardens. The grade II listed Georgian buildings where this hotel is housed have been maintained excellently and their Conservatory Restaurant is a particularly pretty spot with wrought iron furniture that creates a lovely al fresco atmosphere. The two AA rosettes they have received only goes to prove the superior skills of their chefs in combining fresh and local produce in innovative dishes.

Sample for instance The Conservatory's starter of grilled fillet of red mullet with spicy red pepper cous cous, ratatouille and basil oil or even the main course of oven roast chump of lamb with dauphinoise potato, aubergine caviar, roasted shallots, confit garlic and red wine sauce. Finally, round off with a chocolate and hazelnut brownie and choose something from the global wine list that has as many as 31 different choices.
