Cordis Brothers Supper Club

The Cordis Brothers Supper Club on West Irving Park Road, Chicago seems a reincarnation of the flamboyant clubs of the thirties and forties, although it does score a little less on the glamour quotient. Nevertheless, this is just the place to hit for an evening of jazz where you can sip a martini or enjoy some delicious casual American food such as steaks, which are served in a slightly more formal setting.

The menu features a range of appetizers, middleneck clams with crisp bacon, garlic and parmesan cheese or seared Ahi tuna with tri-colored bell peppers and soy mustard sauce. Salads and pastas are decadent while entrees are served with mashed potatoes, penne marinara and shoestring fries. It's hard to miss the robust flavors of a New York strip steak or a slab of barbequed baby back ribs and the wine list demonstrates an affinity towards California, although Italy and France are also represented well.
