Corn Mill, The Description

The Corn Mill, a dramatic conversion from an old water mill on the River Dee, provides a wonderful setting in which to enjoy agreeable pub-grub of an above average standard. Try the bara brith bread and butter pudding for something quite different. Good range of beers and quaffable wines.

The Corn Mill has the advantage of being the most well positioned restaurant in the Vale of Llangollen. Situated right over the river, if it is warm enough you are even welcome to enjoy your afternoon outside. Alas, the food is mediocre at that standard and incredibly overpriced. The bar ordering system is a let down as you often get surrounded by drunks while attempting to make an order. They also do not allow push chairs, which can be annoying. The macaroni cheese leaves a lot to be desired I'm afraid, not that you will be eating that.

I totally disagree with Angela – this is a beautiful location with friendly staff and great service. Fourteen of us descended there with no prior warning. The food was excellent, nothing fancy, just good home cooking although some of dishes were a bit pricey. Overall it was a great experience.
