Corral de la Morería
Calle Morería 17, Madrid, 28005
The Corral de la Moreria in Madrid is popular for its exotic flamenco shows as well as the delicious Spanish food on offer and its location in the centre of the city, next to the Royal Palace has also helped in increasing its popularity and accessibility. The décor is fascinating with Arabic corbels and streetlamps from the 18th and the 19th century, and takes you back in time to the settings of the original tablao flamenco. From their a la carte, you could choose grilled king prawns with lobster juice, which could be followed by cep mushroom cream with foie gras ravioli. For main course, there's salmon with fine aromatic herbs and grated cheese flakes although you could also try the paella or grilled ox entrecote with padron peppers. The Corral de la Moreria in Madrid is popular for its exotic flamenco shows as well as the delicious Spanish food on offer and its location in the centre of the city, next to the Royal Palace has also helped in increasing its popularity and accessibility. REVIEWS OF Corral de la Morería
Samantha Lacy (30 September 2009)
I recently attended a dinner and flamenco show at Corral de la Morería. Prior to that evening, I had no idea what to expect. Once I arrived, it seemed as though I were walking straight into the past. The tablao was small and cosy, which meant I could clearly see the stage no matter where I sat, and styled in the Arab influence that is also a part of flamenco. Once we sat down, my friend and I looked over the extensive menu. Most of the food offered was traditional Spanish food. I decided to go for the roasted vegetables, leg of lamb and sorbet. I was not disappointed! It was by far the best food I have tasted during my past month in Spain. Every bite was savoury and full of flavour. However, that was not the best part of the night. Once my sorbet was served, the room became dark and the guitar started. It was soon followed by the singers and flamenco dancers. It was impossible not to feel the passion and energy they put into the music and dance. The entire audience sat enraptured for the entire hour and a half show. It is something everyone should experience!
