Cottage Restaurant at Ternhill Farm House Description
Nestled in the courtyard at the back of Ternhill Farm House the cosy, but contemporary, 20 cover "Cottage" Restaurant offers an innovative a la carte dinner menu using local (and some home grown) produce.
Welcomed at the door by Jo, all the food is cooked to order by her husband Mike, both old hands in the hospitality business. Dishes are full of contrast, bold and stylish but not too pretentious, presented with a flourish rather than a snooty arrogance.
Ternhill Farm House also offers 5 en suite letting rooms, all individually furnished and named after places of interest in the area rather than monotonous numbers.
Residents can benefit from a fixed price menu with two courses at £9.95 (Tue - Thurs evenings). Reservations are highly recommended, especially as they have held one AA Rosette since April 2005, but The Cottage Restaurant at Ternhill Farm House has only 20 covers and hence fills up very quickly!

Fabulous meal, excellent food, very personal service and it has a wonderful atmosphere. The Cottage Restaurant is a really individual place and well above the one Rosette the AA has awarded. All the dishes are freshly cooked, but Jo and Mike are more than willing to accommodate specific dietary requirements, their menus even list dishes that are gluten free, wheat free and dairy free. Their speciality, banana starter is divine, and their pork fillet for two is exceptionally good value. They offer a wonderful selection of English cheeses, a real revelation from the usual Cheddar Brie and Stilton! Their son, Thomas, is so welcoming, very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in making your evening really special. Just cannot recommend the intimate restaurant enough. If Heineken did restaurants, it would be like The Cottage Restaurant at Ternhill Farm House.
