Crab & Lobster at Crab Manor Hotel

Dishforth Road, Asenby, Thirsk, YO7 3QL

One visit to the Crab & Lobster will tell you it is a 'total destination' place. Since it was opened back in July 1990, and being well rated in the 2003 Good Food Guide, this Aladdin's cave of a place has had food critics singing its praises but keen to preserve its mystique by not sharing their delicious secret. Now that the cat is out of the bag! The famous cuisine of the Crab & Lobster - including a host of special gourmet extravaganzas - can be enjoyed by all who find their way to Asenby. The restaurant is a major attraction for guests staying at the exotic Crab Manor - set alongside in seven acres of ground - because quite simply, it's an experience not to be missed. They specialise in seafood and choices could be: baked sea bream with crab meat, mature cheddar gratin green salad, new potatoes; natural cured haddock, cheese and onion potatoes, black pudding, poached egg; roast cod chunk, leek dumplings, coconut rice, thai green curried prawns and mussels, but meat eaters don't miss out with breast of chicken with feta, aubergine, red pepper and olives, artichoke mash or roast haunch of venison, creamed celeriac, winter roots, thyme and redcurrant jus.
