Your Reviews of Craigard

Ian MacQuire (28 July 2009)

We recently visited this very friendly restaurant on the weekend after my father recommended it to us. He visits the Craigard every morning for his morning tea and quite often for his lunch. The service was very good, friendly and prompt, and the haggis, neeps and tatties were to die for as was the millionaire shortbread, this restaurant is a taste of Scotland at its best. The number of people that came in after seeing the scrumptious cakes, buns and pastries in the window was impressive. It is a very Scottish orientated place with plenty to admire. The many different tartans adorning the walls were impressive, and the screen showing the local highland games and places of interest in the area was a clever idea. I will certainly be returning to this superb eatery.

Morag Mackintosh (28 June 2009)

We recently stumbled across this little gem at the weekend after staying at Loch Lomond. We moved away from Scotland 33 years ago. This restaurant is home cooking at its best. The Cullen skink was the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the lemon meringue pie and I can honestly say it was mouth-watering. I had the Irish stew, plenty of tender lamb and dumplings in rich gravy. The choice of cakes and pastries was immense for such a cosy little shop. The staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable in the local area. A very Scottish orientated place with plenty to admire. The owners seemed keen on informing you of their Scottish history and kept the customers entertained. We are going home on Friday and are going to tell everyone about this little piece of Scotland inside Scotland.
