Crannog Restaurant

Town Pier, Fort William, PH33 6DB

From being a bait shed on Fort William's town pier, to the characteristic red roofs that now bear the hallmark of place well-known for their fantastic seafood with a touch of class, Crannog Seafood Restaurant has come a long way since it's inception in 1989. The kitchen team is passionate about bringing the fresh taste of the sea, so you'll find a constantly changing menu that uses the best local catch of the day. A bowl of mussels the classic way, steamed with onion, white wine, and garlic and finished with cream and you're off to a good start. Plump local scallops with belly of pork and baked white fish quickly follow, accompanied by lemon courgettes and rocket pesto. If there's more stomach room left, try the cranachan pannacotta where Scottish raspberries, oatmeal, Drambuie and honey pannacotta arrive with a Crannog shortbread biscuit.

REVIEWS OF Crannog Restaurant

Fiona Bulloch (19 May 2011)

What a beautiful meal we had, the cranachan was to die for! The sea bass was just amazing! Not for you if you are on a budget, but well worth paying that bit more for excellence. I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

The Fisher Family (17 April 2009)

We had decided that we were going to eat at this restaurant before we even arrived at Fort William. Its location and more importantly the menu was very inviting. We were not disappointed by either. The location was stunning and the interior clean and modern. I should say at this point our 12 year old son was with us and he embraced the menu like a true local even though we're from Yorkshire. The food was faultless and the service matched it. However don't be misled, this is not a restaurant to visit if you're on a budget. The only downside is that we live 300 plus miles away so we can't be regulars. Fully recommend if you visit the Fort William area, we will not hesitate to return should we revisit in the future.
