Situated in the bustling heart of Piccadilly Circus, the Criterion restaurant 's lavish gilded neo-Byzantine interiors bring back the grandeur of a bygone age. The alluring ambience, with a fascinating history lurking in the background, combines with an innovative modern European menu to deliver a unique dining experience.   Head chef Matthew Foxon has created a range of dishes using the finest and freshest ingredients from around the country. Dinner could get started with home smoked salmon, eel and horseradish mousse, pan fried scallops with vanilla purée or beef fillet carpaccio with mini Yorkshire pudding. Delight the taste buds further with English rose veal loin, parsnip puree and red cabbage, Gloucester old spot pork loin and belly with crackling and black pudding and wild halibut with winter vegetables and pickled fennel.
