REVIEWS OF Crofters Brasserie
Aidan Fraser (23 October 2008)
Having just moved to Witham from Chelmsford, we were a little worried that we might be stranded without a great restaurant within walking distance. Luckily we found the Crofters. The service was friendly, and when we asked a couple of questions about the meal, which the waitress didn't know the answer to, she immediately went to ask the chef. The food was excellent, we had a starter and main each and I can honestly say that I could not find fault with anything on either of our plates. Although the lighting was a little dim it gave a very intimate and romantic feel, but being a ‘foodie’ I missed some of the detailing on the plate. We will be going back soon for another meal, and also to make a serious investigation into the wine list, which looked formidable. It was fair value, costing £16 for two courses and £19ish for three, mid week.

A wonderful restaurant hidden away in the depths of Witham. The food is exceptionally priced and would rival any London restaurant. The service was very good and very friendly. I could not think of another place that serves such good food with such a smile. I recommend this restaurant highly. If you have never been to Crofters it is seriously worth a try!
