Cross Foxes
Erbistock, Wrexham, LL13 0DR
Actually the sign shows two crossed foxes, not surprising really; how could even foxes be cross in such a beautiful site as this, alongside the River Dee, hence a real haven for anglers and for those who just want to chill out surrounded by spectacular scenery and great hospitality. The Cross Foxes is part of the modestly sized and very effective Brunning and Price Group, operating mainly in North West England with two in the South East, each place with its own very individual persona, but all 14 following the same high standards. As with all their houses the emphasis is on good wholesome food, well-cooked but not complicated, with a decent wine list and mainly local draught ales to keep everyone happy.Actually the sign shows two crossed foxes, not surprising really; how could even foxes be cross in such a beautiful site as this, alongside the River Dee, hence a real haven for anglers and for those who just want to chill out surrounded by spectacular scenery and great hospitality.

On the menu expect to find smoked salmon and wild mushroom roulade, beef and wild mushroom suet pudding with red cabbage, bacon chop and free range eggs with handcut chips or tiger prawn and red mullet jalfrezi with fragrant rice and naan bread.
Amongst the lite bites is the best ploughman's lunch for miles around with a choice of three cheeses, pork pie, apple, Scotch egg, tomato, pickles, chutney and chunky bread, or a 10" Overton sausage baguette with roasted red onions, spicy ketchup and handcut chips.
Puddings include bara brith bread and butter pudding, waffle and vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce. A well rounded wine list completes the pleasure of this attractive gastropub.

REVIEWS OF Cross Foxes
Kathy (19 September 2010)
We visited The Cross Foxes on Saturday night. We found the food to be good, friendly staff and value for money. It would have been better to have had a table service but that is only a very minor point. I would recommend and will certainly go again!
Helen Cruickshank (31 August 2008)
We were having a very difficult time finding somewhere good to eat when the Cross Foxes was recommended. The food was wonderful, service fast and we were made to feel very welcome. I recommend this pub to anyone
