Cumin Restaurant, The Description
Centrally located in Nottingham, The Cumin Restaurant is close to many of the city's attractions and is a more recent venture of the Anand family, well known for its restaurants. Split across two floors, the first is ideal for private functions whilst the ground floor is set for regular diners. Glass fronted, well spaced tables, excellent teak furnishing and hanging ceiling lamps all add to the classy décor
The cooking is a treat for the taste buds and a creative menu offers some flavoursome and precisely spiced Indian curries. Start with a til jhinga, batter fried king prawns coated with sesame seeds or a meat samosa, a deep fried triangular pastry filled with spicy minced lamb. For mains, filet of tilapia cooked in a medium spiced cumin curry and chicken tikka masala perfected in rich tomato creamy gravy are extremely popular dishes of the cuisine.
Close your meal at Cumin with a pistachio kulfi, a flavoured Indian ice cream or gajar halwa, a carrot and milk pudding flavoured with cardamom.

I held my 30th birthday party on the first floor of The Cumin. The staff were extremely accommodating and despite being busy with other customers, managed to provide a wonderfully intimate and professional service. The food was sublime; it's unusual to find chicken tikka prepared in coriander as opposed to the normal red tikka masala and their prawn preparations are particularly noteworthy. It’s well priced for a thoroughly enjoyable and top quality experience and highly recommended.

Maid Marian Way has become the curry mile of Nottingham. I have tried all the restaurants on that road so I thought I'd try out The Cumin as it had a different appeal to me. I found parking was an issue as I had to walk down the road but as I walked in I was impressed with the simplistic menu, friendly staff and modern interior. The food was exceptional and authentic with unique flavours. I would highly recommend The Cumin to anyone.
