D.C.H Restaurant at Dean Court Hotel

Rumour has it that on a quiet day it is possible to hear the choir intoning at Evensong in the Minster, just across the road from this restaurant, which must have without doubt an enviable location. Inside is stunningly contemporary in style - a wonderful contrast to the elegant Victorian exterior. Within there is an air of calm and if you are fortunate your table will be in one of the alcove windows looking out on to the sunlit/floodlit Minster.

Try the cannelloni of feta cheese or the seared scallops with a quail and black pudding Scotch egg before moving on to the pan-fried sea bass with linguini and clams, or their rump of lamb with buttery potatoes, caramelised onions and thyme. Sign off with a mocha chocolate fondant or the iced honey and lemon parfait with honeycomb, possibly indulging in a glass of the Muscat St. Jean de Minervois Val d'Orbier with which to toast those heavenly voices from across the road.
