Following a change in ownership, DA SPAGO is invoking the true sense of Italy, first by making diners feel at home with a real Italian family, who run the place, and then by serving up meals that have all the precision and freshness that one looks for in a Mediterranean meal.

All pizzas are made fresh each day, hand stretched and cooked in the wood oven, and the metre long pizza deserves a special mention, appearing as it does with a riot of condiments like mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, fried aubergines, ricotta cheese, rocket and parmesan flakes. Other dishes in the carte also demonstrate natural flavours in a big way, from the thin sliced octopus with fresh citronette dressing and rocket salad, and minestrone di verdure to spaghetti with clams, white wine and chilli, and chicken breast with asparagus and speck in a soft parmesan stuffing.

DA SPAGO is constantly brimming with activity as there are live sporting events screened in the basement and music nights in keeping with the restaurant's Italian atmosphere.
