Darbar

We went to the Darbar last night and were unfortunately less than impressed. The Christmas set menu was the only option offered, which is fair enough, but it took two hours and fifteen minutes for us to have our starter and main course with an hour between the courses. In the end, we were there so long we had to leave as we didn't have time to wait for the next course! No apologies were offered and we were charged a £15 service charge.

Don't be fooled by the décor - it’s a very ordinary Indian restaurant - it's just there aren't that many in central Leeds. The food is OK but a bit over-priced. Service is acceptable but be aware that a fifteen percent charge is included automatically in the bill. What galled me most was that some items were presented as complementary - poppadums and pickle tray, fresh fruit after the meal. However closer inspection of the bill reveals that wasn't the case, so watch what you're being charged for.
