Darbucka Lebanese Restaurant

182 Ground Floor Saint John Street, London, EC1V 4JZ

If it's exotic and eastern, then belly dancers can't be far away. At Darbucka, you'll find them swaying to the hypnotic music in the downstairs low lit intimate bar, with an ambience that's richly endowed with an authentic Bedouin feel. More sedate pursuits lie in wait on the upper level where those with a taste for Lebanese cuisine can enjoy it in plenty at this Clerkenwell restaurant on St. John Street. Named after the Middle Eastern drum that produces the rolling beats, Darbucka offers a variety of experiences whether you're looking for delicious food or a good time. At the restaurant, there's a cold mezze with pita bread, humous or stuffed baby aubergines with walnuts, garlic and peppers or a hot one with spicy lamb sausages or falafel, deep fried balls of chickpeas.

REVIEWS OF Darbucka Lebanese Restaurant

Sam 0103 (22 March 2010)

We shared the 50% off set menu between four people and it was amazing – the food was all freshly cooked despite being from a set menu. Portions were generous and bordering on massive. Great atmosphere - the restaurant was full, but you didn't feel squashed or overwhelmed by noise. House wine was very reasonable at £14 and drinkable. My only criticism would be that they could have used maybe one more person to wait on tables as it was so busy in there.
