Dehesa

The acorn fed black-footed Ibérico pigs in Spain are fond of grazing in a patch of woodland which goes by the name of Dehesa and it is their best known habitat. This fact might help you remember the name a little better, unusual though it is, but once you do reach this chic eatery in Ganton Street, prepare to be enveloped in a warm haze of delicious charcuterie and tapas style food served in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Diners sit close to each other on high stools and the atmosphere is conducive to sharing, although you can opt for the 12 seater private room in the basement. Sister restaurant to the Salt Yard in Fitzrovia, the menu features salt cod croquetas, char grilled venison, confit Old Spot pork belly and grilled squid amongst the numerous tapas. Vegetarians get a good deal with their signature courgette flowers drizzled with honey and Monte Enebro. The wine list is exclusively Spanish and Italian, some well known, others a little more obscure.
