Deleece Grill Pub

The ambience at the Deleece Grill Pub in Clark Street, Chicago, is something between casual and sophisticated and the food there is marvelous, typical hearty American fare of steaks, burgers and grills, prepared excellently. The décor features some original photographs of Chicago, shot by the owner Lynne Wallack, and the general vibe about this place is warm and welcoming.

Expect to start dinner with sautéed shrimp in jalapeno orange sauce with sweet cucumber salad, followed by any one of the eight steaks listed on the menu. The New York strip covered with grilled onions and aged white cheddar is an excellent choice, although those not entirely comfortable with red meat can also opt for the shrimp, chicken, fish or macaroni and cheese and end with a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. The drinks list excels in having a large number of American beers and whiskies, bringing back the focus of this restaurant squarely on the nation?s various bounties.
