Demetris Taverna

For nearly thirty years, Demetris Taverna has ruled the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare as one of the most authentic Greek restaurants in probably all of North Somerset. The warm and cordial atmosphere is relaxing and parties and events there take on a different hue altogether with live bands, belly dancing and music. The flavoursome food is prepared over charcoal and customers can enjoy exclusive tapas on Sundays, traditional Greek food and other Mediterranean cuisine on regular evenings, or opt for the famed meze that covers twenty dishes through various stages.

Starters from the menu include lountza, grilled fillet of pork, followed by specialities such as stifado, beef slowly cooked with onions and wine or chicken souvlaki, char grilled breast piece marinated in light garlic sauce. There are numerous Greek wines as well as some from around the world, although you could also try the ouzo or a local beer from Cyprus.
