Depot Waterfront Brasserie, The Description

For great views of the Thames from a South London restaurant, check out The Depot on Mortlake High Street, where Head chef Garry Knowles serves up top quality brasserie dishes, this stunning and different location makes it a very popular choice for locals and tourists alike.

A recent refurbishment to bring this 20 year old brasserie up-to-date has worked wonders - now incredibly stylish and warm with the welcome addition of the River Bar and Lounge for more casual diners and cocktail seekers.

Booking in advance is worth the effort to ensure a river view table or one of the few pretty courtyard tables in the summer, especially during weekend lunchtimes; while friendly and relaxed staff also make it easy to bring the children.

We held our wedding reception there and left with only praise for the place. Great food, which when you are having sea bream served simultaneously to sixty people is quite a culinary feat. The venue itself has a really quite special feel to it; peaceful courtyard on one side and the lazy Thames flowing by on the other. It held the sixty adults and twenty five children very comfortably yet still felt cosy. Steve, the manager was a pleasure to work with and just made everything happen so easily and well. Even the mention of twenty five children didn't faze him in the slightest. He had them all sat down colouring, there were DVDs if they got bored and the courtyard was there for them to run around in after. Thanks to everyone there. You helped give us and our guests a very special day.

Perfect place for Lunch - we sat in the courtyard at the front, which was lovely, but the window seats inside overlooking the river looked great too. The food was delish and the staff were all really friendly. Lovely neighbourhood brasserie and we'll definitely be going back.
