Diner, The Description
Increasingly hip Shoreditch is getting more trendy bars and restaurants by the day and so the competition is increasing to find the right look and feel that will attract both locals and visitors alike. In South though the ultra cool vibe has been ignored in favour of good old-fashioned southern French country cooking. Owner Cathy Bolton has created a little piece of France with dishes such as traditional French black pudding, or should I say boudin noir, followed by the likes of slow cooked oxtail. The set lunch is exceptionally good value at around £13.

I went with my girlfriend and we were both nursing hangovers, so we wanted a carefree and smooth experience, but we found this place shocking. We waited for about 20 minutes to be seated, and though tables were free, the staff did not even bother to clean them. We eventually got a table, but had to wait while the waiter cleaned it. We were served by a waitress and 50 minutes later we asked another waitress about our food who after inquiring about it took our order again. What really annoyed us was the apathy of the waitress who did not even bother to apologise. The food that eventually came was below average and the chips were cold.
