Dining Room at Newick Park Hotel

My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous one night stay at Newick Park Hotel. Our room was sumptuous, beautifully prepared within an exquisitely furnished but informal and comfortable hotel. The food, however, was something else. We had dinner in the restful and tasteful dining room. The service was very professional and helpful but with a real genuine friendliness that set us at our ease immediately. Each course was punctuated with little additions such as the canapés to begin, the amuse bouche before the main course and an additional chef's special mini dessert to liven up our palates before the dessert. The quality of the food, its taste, aroma and presentation were exceptionally good and enjoyable. The restaurant was subtly lit, quiet and restful and we felt relaxed and amazed at the time we spent over our meal. Wine was offered but we felt no pressure to have more than what we wanted - two large glasses of a good white wine. The meal and stay was to celebrate our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. It was memorable and we are already thinking of the next event we can mark.

I have only eaten once here and I confess I didn't pay the bill. The setting is excellent especially in summer - sumptuous and rather old world. The food was excellent and I would recommend it for a special occasion if you can afford it.
