Chris and Lisa Astley brought a touch of class to Boroughbridge when they opened The Dining Room; Lisa looks after the front of house, providing pleasant and well-informed service, while Chris is in charge behind the stove. While we have classed his cooking as Modern British, in his case that is a fairly loose term, as the dishes wander all over the place, from bresaola with shaved Parmesan and truffle oil to boudin noir accompanying breast of corn-fed chicken with apple and calvados sauce. We have been going to the Dining Room for a number of years. You can always guarantee a relaxed and friendly evening. Your table is yours for the night, so you are not rushed at all, then once you are ready you can go back up to the lounge and chill out on the comfy sofa's with your coffee. We usually go a couple of times a year, usually on special occasions. For anyone looking for a relaxing evening with great food, we would recommend you come here.

We are happy to say we have been to The Dining Room on several occasions over the past four or five years and it is always a delight! The new outdoor patio is a fantastic place to enjoy the as always delicious nibbles and drinks before lunch or dinner during the summer months. Chris's food is always delicious and possibly so good that we are guilty of only going on special occasions when it is so reasonably priced that you'd pay the same for an only half decent meal elsewhere. Meanwhile Lisa is the all seeing eye, ensuring that all guests are having a wonderful time and getting the best out of her young but attentive team of waiting staff. Fantastic!
