Dining Room, The

The Dining room promises to be all that its name means - Chef Andrew Robinshaw ensures customers who visit his restaurant go back with happy memories of their visit - and with a high standard of modern British cuisine and attentive service, this Burnley Road dining destination is proving to be one of the best in the area.

The abstract art on the walls complement the light finish and stylish interior and once you settle in, get set to embark on a voyage around Britain and Europe. Starters range from pan-seared king scallops to chilled ballontine of quail spiked with black truffle and tarragon.

If you can't decide what to have next there is a seven course tasting menu; and if you can, there is pan-basted loin of venison with thyme pressed potato and girolle mushrooms; fillet of wild sea trout, or plum vine tomatoes filled with Mediterranean vegetables, saffron and garlic creamed potatoes, aubergine caviar and crisps.

End proceedings with a warm cherry and almond cake. A range of wines and champagne accompany the food.
