We go to Dishes in Ripon every month or so from Barnsley, at least an hour’s drive away and why? Because they offer some of the nicest home-cooked food we have ever eaten. They have a normal café menu with hot and cold sandwiches, but their main feature is the specials board. They always have something new and delicious to try, and not one dish has disappointed me yet! The chips are to die for - thick, uneven and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. We found Dishes by accident when we needed a bite to eat, and it has turned out to be one of the nicest surprise I’ve ever had.
