Dizzy Llama
22-24 Churchill Way, Lower Ground Floor, City Centre, Cardiff, CF10 2DY
Recently refurbished and occupying the location of the former Mimma's restaurant in the middle of Churchill Way, the Dizzy Llama is a stylish restaurant, Welsh owned and operated. The menu maintains the backbone of an Italian restaurant with plenty of pizza and pasta options whilst bringing in a dash of Spanish cuisine in the form of tapas dishes. Vine ripe tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil drizzled with olive oil and vinegar and a selection of cured meats, sausages and marinated antipasti vegetables help put your evening into top gear. To cruise you can select layers of mince beef Bolognese and béchamel oven baked between sheets of egg pasta and topped with cheese and 8oz of thick cut sirloin, grilled to your liking in a cream brandy and peppercorn sauce, served with rosemary roasted potatoes.Recently refurbished and occupying the location of the former Mimma's restaurant in the middle of Churchill Way, the Dizzy Llama is a stylish restaurant, Welsh owned and operated. REVIEWS OF Dizzy Llama
Edible_Planet (24 November 2010)
Have you ever made a Neon Dream cocktail? Layers of colour that come together in a beautiful drink? Nope? Nor had I until last week. As part of the Dizzy Llama masterclass I was encouraged to make the most challenging looking drink on the menu. I stood behind the bar, arms flailing like a confused octopus. Forget lacing the top of the drink with a vodka mix! I was struggling to find a glass. But Rhys, the masterclass leader, was very patient and amusing, pointing me in the direction of the glass, right in front of me, and seemingly extremely positive, if not a little surprised, when the drink took shape at the front of the bar. I would most certainly recommend heading to this venue for a party. It's a hilarious way of bonding and bringing the group together. Now I even have this joke with the friend of a friend who was there: 'Remember that time when Jules mixed the soda water with the vodka....' Ha! Ha! You had to be there! Truly memorable and definitely recommended.

I do like my food and the Dizzy Llama offers an exciting and varied menu. Ideal for party celebrations, as there's something for everyone from top quality steaks to fresh fish or simple pizza and pasta dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed by day and vibrant at the weekends when the cocktails and sambuccas really get the party started. Excellent value for money too!
