This old-established Italian favourite in Brighton just rolls on and on, as successful as when it started. Situated in the heart of Brighton's famous Lanes, Donatello is an Italian restaurant frequented by locals, visitors and celebrities alike.

With its traditional Italian-style interiors, Donatello offers many different areas in which to enjoy your meal, from the Gallery Room to the relaxing intimacy of Donatello's bar, which stocks a wide range of traditional and unusual drinks to preceed, accompany and end your meal with us, with all drinks will be added to your table bill, or even the Conservatory.

Alternatively, you can eat 'al fresco', simply watching the people go by in Brighton's famous Lanes. In total it seats an amazing 400 customers (with places for another 50 on the pavement at the front) this authentic Pizzeria offers an excellent range of pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes all at very reasonable prices

The range of dishes is extremely impressive with wonderful pizzas from only £4.65, which is a simple Margherita, while even their speciality, the Donatello - tomato, mozzarella cheese, sausage, olives, mushroom, artichokes, prawns, peppers, anchovies, is only £6.95. The children are catered for well (with any pizza for £3) and the desserts are a lush landscape of temptation and sin, with everything from simple ice creams through to a wichedly tempting tiramisu.

Their set menus also offer tremendous value with prawn cocktail; funghi trifolati - mushroom cooked in butter, garlic and parsley; minestrone soup or mixed salad to start, followed by pizza or pasta of your choice; aubergine parmigiana or risotto marinara or petti di pollo milanese - breast of chicken fried in breadcrumbs served with spaghetti pomodoro and finally a choice of desserts from the menu. All that for an amazing £8.95, also available on a Saturday evening from 6.30pm for £10.95. There is also a Very Special 3 Course Menu for £14.95 available daily but from 6.30pm only on Saturday.

There is a very Italian wine list with house wine of really decent and drinkable quality at £10.45. In its class Donatello continues to lead the field.
