For many this is their first introduction to Scottish 'black pot'cooking and just to make the point the black pot itself is sat in a corner of this small and attractive Edinburgh basement. Many of the wonderful natural ingredients that exist in Scotland feature regularly on the menu, invoking some of the finest national dishes and taking the uninitiated well beyond the haggis and black pudding. James McWilliams, the chef proprietor is in charge of this particular black pot and his offerings are received with delight by ever-growing cognoscenti. All this - and more - is done at prices that are quite breath-taking in their kindness to the purse.Scottish

I first ate at this restaurant last year and I have to say that it was amazing and that’s an under statement. The food was awesome and so was the service. I would recommend to anyone who loves good food.

Over the past several years when visiting Edinburgh I have had the pleasure of dining at Dubh Prais and have found it to be consistently excellent in both the quality of food and the service is second to none. I especially like like the ambience of the restaurant where it offers a relaxing atmosphere. I now live in Yorkshire but recommend it highly to all my friends and they too praise it highly.
