Duddingston Arms, The Description

Delicious meals, great drinks and a fantastic atmosphere contribute to the making of a fabulous pub and you have all these three elements in top form at The Duddingston Arms in South Queensferry. This delightful place exudes an old world charm that seems to be absent from so many establishments these days, and their stone walls and real fire only enhance this atmosphere. Perfect to drop by for a drink with friends or a family dinner, they also welcome children until 8 pm and their garden at the back offers a delightful option for al fresco dining.

Typically starters might include hot chilli battered chicken balls with a side salad, followed by steak and ale pie with vegetables and chips or even burgers, salads and steaks. An interesting inclusion in the menu are the Indian curries served with rice and pastas. Sunday roasts are extremely popular while the wine list is global and eclectic without being too local.

I recently visited The Duddingston Arms and was very impressed with the service and quality of the food and real ales. The art on the walls was also very good. It was early on Saturday evening and it was nice to see people with their 'gun dogs' in for a drink after the shoot - a real country pub! Good to know we can bring our dog next time.
