Duddleswell Tea Rooms
Duddleswell, nr Uckfield, Crowborough, TN22 3BH
Winnie the Pooh would have certainly loved this charming little tea room had A.A Milne, the author decided to include it in his enchanted forest. Well, Winnie's loss is your gain as the tranquil setting beside what was formerly a hunting ground makes Duddleswell a perfect spot for relaxation. Tourists who go to Ashdown forest, earlier known as Lancaster Great Park to walk, cycle, indulge in bird watching and enjoy the company of deer, visit there. What makes this cosy restaurant special is its three-hundred year history where it passed from being a small cottage, and later a grocery store, to a tea room of repute. The cakes are made daily and there is ample variety to please everyone.Winnie the Pooh would have certainly loved this charming little tea room had A.A Milne, the author decided to include it in his enchanted forest. Sit out on the lawn to enjoy their famous cream teas and a scone - fruit or plain - with strawberry jam, whilst listening to the song of a Dartford Warbler. Makes for an ideal summer afternoon doesn't it?

REVIEWS OF Duddleswell Tea Rooms
Janey (24 February 2011)
It is a gem of a place - set just off a quite busy road. It has the feel of being miles from anywhere. Parking is possible off the opposite road, but take care crossing. It has a quirky cottage parlour atmosphere with interesting things like old teapots around. Food is gorgeous and you don't have to have a cream tea since there are plenty of sandwiches, cakes etc. Cream teas are delicious and you can have the basic or a really greedy one. Try Pooh's honey instead of jam on your scones - why not, in this location!
Killy Field (17 November 2009)
We have been there a couple of times and it's always busy, because it's wonderful. After an invigorating walk across the forest, all you need is a pot of tea and a yummy slice of delicious cake or scone with jam and cream to pick you up for the homeward tramp. It’s highly recommended.
