Duke of Cambridge, The Description

The 100% organic, regional European blackboard menu is changed twice daily, prices range from £4.50 upwards for a starter to around £15 for a main course; smaller children's portions are available off the menu. The wine list and draught beers are 100% organic.

Built in 1851, it has been carefully restored, with the original features, in 2005 a conservatory was added where the courtyard was. There is an outside seating area, but no music, TV or game machines. The Duke strives to have a minimal environmental impact by sourcing from local suppliers, while their fish policy has been approved by the Marine Conservation Society and they try to recycle everything even down to composting their food waste. It has won many awards including ones from Time Out and Observer Food Monthly.

Your Reviews of Duke of Cambridge, The

Linda Parsons (10 February 2006)

I was taken to Duke of Cambridge on Jan 22nd this year as a birthday treat from my daughter, we are both very much into Organic food and very pleased to find a pub that catered for us, even though we travelled from Croydon it was well worth the trip, the food is to die for and in my opinion not overpriced the service was good and we were not kept waiting long for our excellent meal (try the pork chops)I had a Vodka and Plum juice and it is a treat, very smooth. The staff are very helpful and as I am severely disabled and in a wheelchair what could have been a problem was not. The only downside that I experienced was that the toilets are down a flight of stairs, but I managed with assistance. All in all the whole evening was a joy and I will certainly be going again (don’t try to kidnap the chef because I tried and he won’t go). My star rating 11 out 10 **********
