Dungeon Restaurant Description

Probably one of the best promoted castles in Scotland, Dalhousie Castle near Bonnyrigg has been skillfully converted into a hedonistic capital. Set on the banks of the river Esk, this 13th century fortress comes with a lovely blend of old and new, making even the unromantic overflow with euphoric headiness. Tucked inside this monument steeped in history is a gem of a restaurant with a misleading name. The dungeon in fact, now makes you feel as welcome as the laird with its legendary Scottish warmth and hospitality.

Travellers in search of a unique experience or an intriguing travel story will not be disappointed at the ancient barrel-vaulted dungeons that provide an enjoyable, mysterious setting for traditional Scottish and classical French castle cuisine made from fresh local produce. Whether you're going for the salmon, venison or grouse, there's a well thought out list of fine wines to go with the meal. The service is outstanding and the experience frequently exceeds the anticipation. Come here for great food, unparalleled hospitality and happy memories that will linger on for a lifetime.
