Ebury Wine Bar And Restaurant
139 Ebury Street, London, SW1W 9QU
Ebury Wine Bar and Restaurant was considered to be a sophisticated and unusual place when it first opened in 1959, now it still does not disappoint its many admirers as it continues to move with the times, keeping its style thoroughly up to date, particularly with its food. It is decorated in old French style, with dark wood and oil paintings, which gives this restaurant certain panache. The food is seasonal, but the chef, Bernard Dumonteil, adds colour to the menu by introducing some fusion choices like pork and olive terrine; smoked beef with celeriac remoulade; ocean perch, broad beans and mint broth, and feta crusted rack of lamb, polenta croquette and spicy tomato sauce. Dairy and gluten free menus make life slightly better for those who are bound by the confines of strict diet regime.Ebury Wine Bar and Restaurant was considered to be a sophisticated and unusual place when it first opened in 1959, now it still does not disappoint its many admirers as it continues to move with the times, keeping its style thoroughly up to date, particularly with its food. It's not very often that you'd find a place offering gourmet food at wine bar prices and that probably explains Ebury's longevity.
