Ego Mediterranean Restaurant - Liverpool
Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BW
A chain of restaurants in the North West which have so far managed to retain the individuality of independence. If they can continue to do that and reap the benefits of joint management they will deserve all the success they can achieve. At Ego the spirit of the Mediterranean has been invoked in a number of ways, not least by the décor. Ingredients are sourced with care, often directly from the Med and the menu changes seasonally to take advantage of the best that is available. Such dishes as sardines, fresh of course, and a braise of chorizo and black pudding come across well, helped by staff who not only look as thought they are enjoying their work but also obviously know what they are about.A chain of restaurants in the North West which have so far managed to retain the individuality of independence. REVIEWS OF Ego Mediterranean Restaurant - Liverpool
Ian Heed (27 February 2011)
We had heard so much about the Ego eating experience and was looking forward to trying it out. We decided to try the Liverpool restaurant and were not disappointed at all. From the extremely fresh cooked calamari with aioli to my succulent seared swordfish steak and my wife’s tajine dish - every mouthful was a treat. The excellent choice of wines available, complimented the meal perfectly. The meal was at the top end of the fine dining experience but without a scary price attached. My compliments to the chef who was backed up by very professional front of house who were attentive to detail and very professional. Well worth a visit. We will certainly return.

Fabulous service coupled with a wonderful varied menu make this restaurant a big hit. Of an evening it can be very busy but the atmosphere is always relaxing and friendly whether you go for lunch or dinner. A big plus for our party was that the staff are very child friendly and the children’s menu was good. This restaurant is worthy of a visit any time!
