Eight Over Eight Description

Closed, owing to a severe fire on 11th October 2009. Eight Over Eight translates into 'lucky forever', according to Chinese proverbs. In the restaurant and bar the ethos is minimalist, but comfortable, design and food which spans South East Asia, with an emphasis at Eight Over Eight on China and, in particular, Shanghai.

The overall mood at Eight Over Eight is relaxed and chic. Staff know the menu inside out and encourage diners to share dishes. From dim sum and tempura to curries, maki rolls and sashimi, the menu covers Asia from Thailand to Japan via Malaysia and China. Hugely popular are the specialities such as Beijing crispy duck and lotus leaf chicken. The head chef is Neil Whitney, who recently worked at I-Thai.
