Ekachai treads familiar but comforting territory with its range of Thai and Malaysian cuisine served in a trendy and casual atmosphere in Liverpool. This smart eatery does away with the concept of formal courses and allows diners to construct their meal from a range of little plates and big bowls. The tapas or dim sum type of concept is a great idea for sharing and lets you try a wider variety of dishes in a single meal. Flat rice noodles with tofu, egg, chai-po, tamarind and bean sprouts garnished with peanut and lemon or thin vermicelli noodles with king prawns and button mushrooms are just some of the choices you might find there. There?s the famed lamb massaman curry, tender chunks of meat slow cooked with potatoes and roasted shallots while a chicken stir fry with basil, chilli and lime leaves is excellent.
