The infamous Boston molasses disaster of 1919 may have been quietly buried in the annals of history but a relatively unknown fact remains; the flood actually stopped at 161 Devonshire Street, which now houses the Elephant and Castle. Years rolled by but even now you'd notice the flood, albeit of different kind, with hordes of people flocking in to enjoy some great food and a selection of draught beers.

For this place to be so busy they surely must be doing several things right; preparing sauces, dressings and desserts from scratch could be one of them and placing British classics alongside North American favorites is the other. So expect to find steak and ale pie and fish and chips with nachos, quesadillas and Boston clam chowder. Dinnertime entrées could include Guinness meatloaf or castle stir-fry of fresh crunchy vegetables and cashews in a tangy sauce, served over jasmine rice with crispy wontons.
