Elephant Royale Gants Hill Description
Manna from heaven in an area not exactly over-populated by cuisine of any recognisable sort, the Elephant certainly has the bulk to fill the gap at least partially. Furthermore the décor is a real lift to the spirits from the surroundings beyond the door and your mood will brighten by just entering the restaurant.
And then there's the food, of course. This is as authentic as the décor and then some - real Thai cooking, well presented and with more than a hint of originality to some of the dishes.
Furthermore, there's live music on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but if this is a signal to you to go another night be sure to book, particularly at the weekends. It might be tempting to think that the paucity of competition is the reason for success, but many are of the view that this restaurant would prosper anywhere.

I brought my Chinese-American friends there while they were visiting from America and had an absolutely fantastic meal. The wait staff were nice and efficient. To start, the wine list was better than expected for an Asian theme, the pinot grigio we ordered was really tasty. We started with mango salad, crab claws, and some beef thing - I don’t know I am vegetarian and all three were massive hits. The mains were even better, although be warned that medium spicy means medium by Thai standards, not English standards. It’s still delicious. Pistachio ice cream at the end hit the spot and also quite reasonably priced. It’s highly recommended for dates, anniversary, etc as the ambience is quite intimate. I’d not recommend bringing young children unless they are very well behaved. Five star rating.

Certainly the best place to wine and dine a loved one or simply to enjoy special times with friends and family. Elegant surroundings that you can dress your best and Thai dishes that are mouth watering. A menu with various dishes with great taste and gorgeous presentation, that every time you order, your want to be even more adventurous. For sure an A* restaurant that is worth every penny!
