Est Est Est - Harrogate Description

As soon as you walk through the door of an Est Est Est outlet you should instantly feel welcome. It is a vibrant modern Italian restaurant offering a sensibly priced, up to date menu in stylish surroundings with a warm and friendly atmosphere, where a simple one course meal can cost as little as £10.

They try hard to cater to all tastes, some restaurants feature wood-fired pizza ovens, which produce sensational pizzas far larger and tastier than most others you'll find on the high street. The menu offers a great range of chicken and steak dishes, and seafood too - all added to each week by a range of blackboard specials created by the chef.

Of course, being an Italian restaurant, Est Est Est serves an excellent selection of pasta, piled hot and steaming into large bowls - perfect for lunch or early evening with a crisp side salad.

Children are particularly well catered for at Est Est Est. The menu is varied and even encourages participation, for instance they can top their own pizzas with their own choice of toppings; and all children's main course prices include ice cream and a soft drink.

Further Information

Est Est Est is a modern Italian restaurant that currently has 20 restaurants located throughout the UK from London to Edinburgh. The first restaurant was opened approximately 11 years ago in the heart of Knutsford in Cheshire, and since then has developed into a well-known place to eat out.

Est Est Est is truly at the cutting edge of restaurant design and Italian food, their restaurants have introduced lovers of quality food to a revolutionary new type of Italian restaurant - one that offers ultra stylish ambience with new standards in modern cooking, a friendly environment and reasonable prices. Quite a combination!.

The restaurant interiors are clean, modern and minimalist - pale wood and chrome with soft sandblasted glass add to the visual impact. One of the main characteristics in each restaurant is the bar, the flowers are always fresh and on the walls are truly stunning large pieces of art, from the award winning artist, David Firmstone OBE. You get the picture?

When asked about the history behind the name of the restaurant, the answer is simple....

"In the year 1110, a bishop Defuk was on his way from Ausburg to Rome for the coronation of Henry V. A dedicated tippler; he sent his Major domo, Martin, ahead with orders to write in chalk on the door of any Inn where the wine was good, the word 'Est', 'It Is'. In Montefiascone, just North of Rome, the wine was so good that Martin, who was beside himself with enthusiasm, wrote 'Est Est Est!' on the door of the Inn.The Bishop travelled no further, he stayed with Martin in Montefiascone until he tasted and tippled into his tomb!"

Your Reviews of Est Est Est - Harrogate

Nick (20 March 2006)

Went to the restaurant on Saturday, the restaurant itself is nice, relaxed and modern. The service was excellent, moving onto the food, the starters were great very tasty and very presented really well.

The main was a different story, ordered chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and mushrooms with risotto.

The mozzarella that was supposed to be stuffed inside was nonexistent, the chicken was a little on the pinkish side which was quite worrying and the risotto was really stodgy not good at all.

Deserts were really tasty and well presented, Overall I would go back but just not order anything with chicken or risotto.

Price wise it wasn’t too bad at all, had 3 courses and a bottle of rose wine and the bill came to £58.

One last thing the restaurant in the picture isn’t the Harrogate one, we actually walked past it the first time because the sign isn’t lit up at all like on the picture, hope this helps anyone else making the same mistake.

Lizzie (29 December 2005)

They made me feel so welcome and the food is the best Italian in Harrogate, well worth a visit.
