Etsu Japanese Restaurant Description
Etsu is a welcome addition to the diverse Liverpool eating out scene, as it offers authentic Japanese cuisine cooked by expert chefs, who have all actually trained and served their apprenticeship in Japan.
The restaurant has a tranquil relaxing setting, a delightful outside terrace when the weather is right for it, and is suitable for everything from working lunches to romantic evenings or for that special occasion with friends and family.
With a menu that includes all the normally expected dishes such as sushi and sashimi through to grilled meats and speciality fish dishes, there is something for everybody, especially those that may have said in the past "I don't like Japanese food but have yet to try it", then Etsu might just be the right choice for you.
Etsu is situated at Beetham Plaza, within the business district, which is fast becoming Liverpool's number one area for eating out.

I’ve eaten lunch at Etsu many times now and every time I’m warmly welcomed by the manager Dave and the staff. The atmosphere is always pleasant and now to the food, I can’t fault it. Granted I’ve only ever eaten from the sushi and sashimi menu, as I don’t see the point in going to a Japanese sushi bar and ordering steak! Anyway, the sushi and sashimi are always fresh, tasty and well presented. I really cannot fault anything about Etsu's authentic food. Even the toilets are amazing.

I visited Etsu on Wednesday evening and ordered a sirloin steak with rice and teriyaki sauce and it came with a salad. The steak was drowned in far too much soy; indeed I was unable to taste anything on the plate as the soy destroyed any flavours that may have been present. The salad was limp and looked and tasted like it was pre-packaged. In addition the rice wasn’t sticky enough to eat with chopsticks. I had hear good things about Etsu and the service and atmosphere were good it is just a shame the food was a disappointment.
