As you walk across the bridge from Bryggetorget to Aker Brygge, you reach Bølgen and Moi Tjuvholmen, a stylish brasserie with an indoor dining option and an al fresco seating area. A modish décor is marked by marbled flooring, colourful and aesthetically decorated walls and huge glass windows. The lights hang from an interesting web of wires that appear as a form of abstract art from below.
The kitchen has an imaginative take on an array of locally sourced ingredients and a well devised menu encompasses starters such as prawn and crayfish salad, steamed mussels seasoned with herbs and classic steak tartare. The likes of braised lamb shank served with vegetables and creamed potato and duck confit baked with cabbage, apple and bacon feature amongst mains.
The superb combination of a brownie and an ice cream never fails to please the sweet-toothed.
