Italistro (County Cork)

Italistro is a wonderful Italian restaurant in Bandon. The food and staff are incredible, very good wine selection and amazing coffees. We have returned many times and will continue to do so. Thanks Italistro for being a stand out in great West Cork restaurants. Highly recommend! Reservations recommended.

Punjab Balti, The (Dublin Area)

I took my dad there for the first time and he said it was one of the best curries he's ever had. The menu at Punjab Balti restaurant included all the old favourites but each dish had its own distinctive flavour. The offer is great value and the portions are just the right size. The ambiance was very tasteful and the service was very good. All round a very pleasant evening. We will definitely go back.

Brasserie Am Gendarmenmarkt (Berlin)

This restaurant was an excellent experience. Very helpful staff, but the food was even better. The Argentinean steak was really tender and full of flavour; the calf's liver again succulent in a good sauce, the entire dish was very coherent. The angler fish dish and monkfish were full of flavour although a bit on the salty side. The meat dishes were accompanied by a German dry Blauburgunder, Pinot Noir, and the fish with a Grauburgunder, Pinot Gris. Just great!

Shiso (Prague / Praha)

The food was simply sublime - unique and surpassed the three top Asian fusion restaurants in London. The meals are well balanced, the service impeccable and the ambiance was perfect. I was surprised it was so quiet but that meant we got even more spoiled. Loved the music and the drinks at the bar after - the members of staff were welcoming and it was a really fun way to finish a perfect night.

Rupsha (Dublin Area)

This Indian restaurant is a regular haunt of ours. The food is the best you can get, service is excellent, and prices are more than affordable in these recessionary times. It’s great for groups of people, parties, or just a cosy dinner for two. We are hard pushed to find an Indian menu as good as this in the whole of Dublin. We have been eating there for over 4 years now.

Gauchos - Aan de Gracht (Utrecht)

I've only eaten at an Argentine twice - Lisbon and here in Holland. Steaks are unbelievable, just the best. Very nice location, maybe a little cramped inside but stylish nonetheless, and friendly service and perfect food.

O'Briens Good Food and Drink House (County Meath)

I went to avail of the 15.00 euro, three course meals, available on Monday and Tuesday night, which sounded like brilliant value. Starters of garlic bread were like a dry cracker, main was sirloin steak and the portion was tiny, it was smaller than a child’s portion. Dessert was profiteroles or ice cream and we were told only ice cream was available. I left starving and if I wish to spend that amount again, I think a Chinese would be better value. The reason it is half price is because you only get half the amount of food normally served.

Sukaldari (Barcelona)

Clearly negative publicity but that's what they deserve. I found it tasteless, expensive and dirty. I ordered gazpacho and had some red cold liquid not even the slightest taste of tomatoes for at about 7 euros. Afterwards I had the lamb meat which meant 3 small slices of meat with mostly bones. I took a San Miguel with it and the total cost me 27 euros for having at the end a bad dinner. Avoid this restaurant unless you like bad food.

Oranium (Berlin)

I was in Oranium last Wednesday night in a party of 4 and I have to say we all found it superb. We all had starters, main courses, desserts, 6 minerals and 2 coffees. The total bill was 105 euros, my only regret was that I didn’t discover Oranium earlier on in my stay but I will be back.
