Everest

59-61 Chesterfield Road, Sheffield, S8 0RL

Located in Chesterfirld Road, Everest, the Indian restaurant offering exceptionally tasty food has been in operation for the last 25 years. After being at a low ebb several years ago, owner Nasir Raja made great efforts to restore the restaurant to its former glory in 1998. Today, in spite of the overnight failures and successes of various restaurants in the vicinity, Everest still stands tall with the sustained patronage of a wide and growing clientele. The décor is in a time warp of velvet seating and Indian art but in many ways the Everest seems to react well to this - it's a very Indian place. The music in the background is traditional Indian and the regulars speak highly of the unequalled quality of food and warm and friendly service.

Sam (22 January 2009)

We visited this restaurant last year and were really shocked by the appalling treatment from the staff. Unfortunately, whilst we were there a member of the party had his coat taken away by a waiter and when it came time to leave the coat had been stolen. When the manager assured us that he would pay for the coat and claim on his insurance we were relieved. But the real story was that he had no intention of helping us, he was keeping us happy at the time and then aggressively told us down the phone that we would need to pay the £250 excess. In fact, one member of staff when we called to discuss this with the manager shouted down the phone 'We do not give a damn about your coat!' To say we have been shocked by their attitude would be an understatement!
