I've been eating pie and mash for just over six weeks now. Since I had my first pie I just wanted more. Pies are my life now! I've been all over London eating pies, but I struck gold on Broadway Market last weekend. I went for a two and one and I was bowled over by the strong flavours, the delightful liquor and the spectacular chilli vinegar. Absolutely knockout. My pie odyssey is now over.

I am coming up to 58 and I have eaten pie and mash at Cooke in Broadway Market for as long as I can remember. It is the best I have ever tasted and often go there on a Saturday even though where I live in South London there are nearer pie shops. When I was at school we would have pie and mash every day in the school holidays. I’m never tired of it.
