I am coming up to 58 and I have eaten pie and mash at Cooke in Broadway Market for as long as I can remember. It is the best I have ever tasted and often go there on a Saturday even though where I live in South London there are nearer pie shops. When I was at school we would have pie and mash every day in the school holidays. I’m never tired of it.

I come from the Old Kent Road and back in the late seventies my Grandad would always take us for a special treat on the other side of the water to Cooke's of Broadway Market - I have been to over 20 pie & mash shops in London & I must say that this is the best and this is coming from a South Londoner - the pies excellent mash & liquor beautiful topped off by chilli vinegar that goes with them pies so well. Top marks. The best.
