REVIEWS OF Fairlawns Restaurant
Sarah Louise (3 September 2008)
I loved it. We went there with a group of girls last weekend for a hen party. We spent the day in the spa, enjoyed treatments and all day refreshments including a delicious lunch. The rooms were great and right next to the spa, away from the main hotel, which was very busy, and in the evening we had a fantastic dinner in a small alcove just off the main restaurant. The food was delicious and the service and attention really made us all feel so special. This is what memories are made of and we will now be going back for our Christmas party. Fantastic experience - could not fault it.

Don't be put off by the fact this restaurant is in a hotel. I have eaten at the Fairlawns several times and I’m always impressed with the warm welcome and the attentive staff. The menus appear to be very seasonal and the choice is more than adequate. The food is obviously fresh, carefully cooked and well presented. Go at lunchtime for steak and kidney pudding, which is to die for. Sunday lunch is quite traditional, but there are always one or two contemporary twists. I have used the hotel for business guests and entertained them in both the restaurant and private dining rooms. I noticed that there is now a spa, and last time I was there, a large group of ladies were dining at the end of a spa day and having great fun. That is likely to be an expensive experience as my wife is now planning an overnight spa visit with her friends. All in all, a very well run establishment offering a refreshing change from the standard fare offered by corporate hotels. I’m very happy to recommend.
